Fictional demo story

The drawer is ৳50 short. Now what?

A fictional closing-time example. The goal is to trace a difference, not hide it inside tomorrow’s opening cash.

Count before comparing

A blind count asks for the cash in hand before showing the expected amount. The demo cash screen contains a ৳50 shortage.

Follow the money

Check collections, refunds, expenses and transfers. A bKash payment belongs in the bKash fund; it is not cash in the drawer.

  • Recount the physical cash.
  • Match each payment with its actual fund.
  • Record the reason and an authorised correction before closing.

A visible difference is useful

The record helps identify what needs investigation. This example does not claim that software prevents every shortage.
